Lauren and Rob drove an hour and a half south to Sutton, Massachusetts, to attend a craft fair at Legacy Church! There, we spoke with the Pastor’s wife, who is also interested in having us come talk to the congregation about our work here at Hisani Foundation!

Lauren and Rob set up a table at a local event in New Hampshire. Every year, the town holds a giant party for one day, and local vendors come to sell their goods. We were able to secure a table and we were very successful, again, holding multiple conversations and distributing our information to our friends and neighbors!

1 December 2024
Our CEO, Lauren and our Head of Mechanical Engineering, Rob, attended a craft fair in Windham, New Hampshire, USA. Again, we spoke with several people about Hisani Foundation and the projects we are currently engaged in. It was very exciting that a couple people walked up to our booth and told us that they recognized us from previous events! This time, earrings flew off the racks, but there was no interest in Lauren’s diamond art or photographs. It’s interesting that East African earrings are the go to item that people want! We enjoyed our time today, and are already looking for more craft fairs to attend come the New Year and Spring 2025!

17 November 2024
Our CEO, Lauren and our Head of Mechanical Engineering, Rob, attended a craft fair in Plaistow, New Hampshire, USA, where we spoke with several people about Hisani Foundation and the work we are doing. We are so excited that our name is beginning to get out into the world as a grassroots foundation. A few people bought Lauren’s diamond art and photographs, but the earrings are still the main selling point. Today was very fun because we get to share a little of Tanzania with New England.

7 & 8 November 2024
Our CEO, Lauren and our Head of Mechanical Engineering, Rob, attended the Forum for Endowments and Foundations in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. We learned quite a bit and networked with industry professionals. We are excited to apply some of our new knowledge in how we operate Hisani Foundation. It was fascinating to hear view points and take advice from people who have been in the Endowment and Foundation spaces for longer than we have.

27 October 2024
Our H.O.M.E. (Head of Mechanical Engineering), Rob, and CEO, Lauren attended a craft fair where they sold earrings that have been made by crafters in East Africa. During this craft fair, they were able to have many engaging conversations about the work Hisani Foundation does and how they could help. We also signed several people up for our monthly mailing list. If you’re interested in joining our mailing list, please send an email to lauren@hisanifoundationtz.com!

Our H.O.M.E. Our first official event went very well! Out of 100 goodie bags, we handed out 86 of them, each containing a customized pen, a Longway Expeditions business card, a Kilimanjaro Tea Bag (individually wrapped of course), and a brochure containing information about us. We had so much fun telling people about Hisani Foundation! Since quite a few people asked how to donate online, that link can be found here.
